1 Month Old Today!

Dear Kent,

My precious "little man" as I like to call you... how is it you are already a month old? A month ago we drove to the hospital as a family of 2... and a few days later, brought you home as a family of 3! Time is truly flying by, it's incredible. You are growing and changing SO much before our very eyes!

Here's what you've been up to...:

+ You still wear Newborn diapers, but we have discovered you only like the Pampers Swaddlers diapers. Any others make you a fussy gus and you like to leak through them!

+ You wear Newborn size clothes, but some are getting tight on you! We are hurrying up and trying to make sure you have a chance to wear all of you newborn outfits before you get too big for them.

+ You have grown to love your Daddy! At first you were a total Momma's boy, but now you love cuddling in his arms watching sports. It's pretty precious to watch you two together.

+ We got your Birth Certificate and Social Security card! It's crazy seeing your name on official government documents.

+ You LOVE to eat and sometimes DEMAND food every 2 hours! EEK! It sure keeps me on my toes and busy, that's for sure!

+ For the most part, you sleep well at night. You wake up 2-3 times to eat, but are usually really good about going right back to sleep after eating.

+ You are starting to make THE cutest/silliest faces. I can't wait for when you start smiling for "real".

+ You are also starting to like the sound of your own voice and make funny noises from time to time.

+ Although you will NOT sleep without it, you are starting to outgrow your swaddle blanket and always try to kick it off of you, then fuss when it comes off - silly boy!

+ Your umblical cord FINALLY fell off so Daddy and I gave you your first "real" bath... I must say, you LOVED it! You stared at yourself in the mirror the whole time and made the cutest baby noises.

+ You have only been spoiled in one aspect... you see, when we came home from the hospital, Mommy was too sore to be able to step up into her super high bed, so she slept on the couch, Daddy slept on the floor, and you slept in your bassinet in the living room. Since then we have tried twice moving your bassinet to the bedroom so we can all sleep there again, but you fuss and fuss and fuss so we give in and have kept sleeping in the living room. Soon we will transition you to your crib anyway, so we decided just to go with it.

+ You met a few friends of ours! You slept the entire time, so we could say you were polite. :)

+ TODAY, you went on your first "big" outing! You went to Red Lobster and slept most of the time. You also went to Babies R' Us so we could pick up a few things for you. You were such a good boy!

+ So far, you have Mommy's laidback personality. Please stay this easygoing!

+ You are a total sweetheart, and I love you very very very much! I love watching you grow up. You are amazing!

Love, Mommy
