{Very random recap of my weekend here.}
This weekend has been BUSY! It's been our first weekend home since who knows when; and we only have one more weekend before we move -- crazy! So, Saturday, I spent my day packing. Every time we move, as I pack I always wonder how we gather so much stuff, considering EVERY move we've had we always get rid of a few items. {Our move to Jasper we literally LOST a few items off the truck! lol}
But packing always makes me reminisce about the past; I love finding things I haven't looked at in x amount of year but yet still can't part with. :-) This time it's especially neat; life before baby and now life with baby -- two different worlds!
Today, Kent actually let us sleep in for the first time in forever, and then after doing a few errands around town we went to church & then had yummy BBQ for lunch there! That part made me a little bittersweet about moving, we love the church we've found here and there were old and new friends at the lunch that make it hard to leave. Yet we still know in our hearts this is the right move for our family right now... Especially considering if we weren't moving I probably wouldn't even have a job right now!
After church we came home, and another dear friend came over and brought me TONS of boxes to use for our move. We spent a good 45 minutes talking about life, God, faith, family, and everything else. Sometimes, it's good just to stop the busy-ness of the day and relax with a friend for a little bit. And how good my "Jasper family" has been to me, even without my "real" family here.
Chad then hit up Sonic's happy hour {mmm... unsweetened peach iced tea!} and I became a packing machine and went through every item in my closet and either packed it or got rid of it. It's amazing how many clothes I have but yet I can never find anything to wear. Do all girls have this problem? ;-)
Then, we spent some quality time with our little man, who is teething right now and in a lot of pain... poor guy! He got some extra loving from us fo' sho'. Chad did a ton of packing and now we're both taking a moment to breathe. Busy, but such a great weekend. I love feeling like we accomplished so much but also got to hang out with some quality people! So thanks Jasper friends... I will miss you guys like crazy. Thanks for being my family while my family wasn't nearby.
