I haven't mentioned this yet, but it has actually been a trying couple of months for Chad and I. Of course, we are overjoyed with Kent's birth and all the light he's brought to our lives, but right before Chad was scheduled to go on family leave, he lost his job.
It was devastating at first, and lots of questions of why, and why now kept surfacing. But as we prayed and searched for answers, the state of Texas found Chad was wrongfully let go and are now paying him unemployment for the next few months. It is only $100 less a paycheck than he was making before, so it hasn't been too hard of a hit thankfully. And we know that's because God is watching out for us!
It is still trying as Chad searches for a job and is having very little luck, being in such a small town and having a career that does better in big cities [loss prevention]. BUT as we kept praying, we realize God is already blessing us in SO many ways:
1] We still have income coming in! AND 2 incomes at that!
2] As I recovered from my c-section, I had Chad here to help out for more days than I thought I would at first.
3] He has had extra time to bond with Kent that he would have not had otherwise.
4] I was really nervous about putting Kent into daycare, and for now, I won't have to. Chad can watch him during the day while we still have this income coming in, and spend more time looking for jobs to find a better fit.
So when it seems like we aren't getting the answers we want, we know God will provide us with that we need! And I am so thankful for that.
