We talked to the doctor about a few questions we had and he took time with us to answer each one. We really, really like our pediatrician. My OB/GYN recommended him and we can see why... he's like an older [slightly more serious] version of him. He is really good with Kent too!
Now, the hard part of the appointment.... SHOTS!
Kent got THREE shots and some oral medicine. He took the medicine no problem. The shots.... he cried SO loudly and SO much, I knew he was in pain and HATED that there was really nothing I could do. When it was over, I cuddled him, wrapped him in a blankie, gave him a paci, and he immediately calmed down. The doctor said we could give him Tylenol when we got home, so we picked some of that up.
He slept for awhile when we got home, and then woke up SCREAMING. I gave him the Tylenol but it took awhile to kick in. I cuddled up with him, got in the rocking chair, and began singing to him. It was such a sweet, tender moment as it actually calmed him down. :) Every time I would stop, he would start to stir so I would start all over again. I love my little man so much and am so thankful for moments like these that show how beautiful life is.
