Family Weekend

This weekend, my in laws made the drive out East from North Texas to spend some time with us. Chad and I were so excited to see them!

They came in Friday night around 5pm. Every one of us was tired, so we ordered a pizza and watched the Rangers make it to the WORLD SERIES!!! After that, they headed back to the bed & breakfast they were staying at and Chad & I did our nightly routine with Kent.

Saturday, they came over after breakfast and we headed out to Beaumont. We first went to Starbucks as all four of us are coffee addicts. :]

It was then time for Kent's first trip to the mall, which even though he will be 6 weeks Monday, was TOTALLY overwhelming as a new mommy. Everywhere I looked, I saw germs. I felt so paranoid and annoying as I kept covering him up and sanitizing my hands about every five seconds, but I guess when you're a parent you look at places like a crowded mall in a new light. We didn't stay there very long as my paranoia took over and I couldn't really enjoy myself.

We then headed over to Applebee's and enjoyed a yummy meal. It was much less crowded and made my head spin much less. :) Restaurant outings... check. Mall outings... wait awhile longer for!

On the way back, we stopped at a consignment store where they had some super cute onesies for 99 cents! I picked up 2, but want to go back and spend some time really digging and treasure hunting to find Kent some more. GREAT deals and they look brand new!

Then we headed back to our place, and watched "Office Space" with them as they had never seen it. HILARIOUS! After that, we ordered in some food and spent time with Kent just relaxing. Some cute pictures:

My mother in law, Kellie, with Kent:

My father in law, Kenny, with Kent:

[yes, Kenny's name is partially how we came up with Kent's name. His middle name is after my dad, Michael.]

On Sunday, we woke up early and all met for breakfast at the place they were staying. It was delish! After that, we hung out for awhile just chatting and relaxing. Then we headed out to Lufkin where we, guess what, went to Starbucks. :] After that we did some shopping [I finally gave in and bought my purple purse!!] and then they decided it was time for them to get on the road [for their 4.5 hour drive] so we said our goodbyes, and I snapped this picture of our Stewart family...:

We were sad to see them go, but are getting back into our routines tonight. We are blessed to have such a loving and sweet family, with so many to love our little man as much as we do!
