Project #1: Menu Dry Erase Board
note: I was inspired by this from a blog somewhere one day when I blog-hopped, if this is your idea I am NOT trying to take credit - I just don't remember where I found it!
Tools: dollar store frame, hobby lobby scrapbook paper, some leftover foam circle stickers, and alphabet stickers
I decided to only use one "S" for Saturday and Sunday, because even though I menu plan for each week - I don't necessarily make it on the days listed. So surely something I was supposed to make Thursday night, for example, ends up made on one of those days. Or we just munch on leftovers or go out to eat. :) But every other day has a spot - I hope this helps me keep even MORE organized with my menu planning and committed to the meals I say I will make each week.
Project #2: Nursery Dry Erase Board
note: this one I was inspired by the menu idea, but using it in the nursery was all my idea! :)
Tools: dollar store frame, hobby lobby scrapbook paper, some leftover foam baseball and circle stickers, and alphabet stickers
I LOVE how this came out and sticks with the baseball theme in his room! For now we will use it to countdown till he is here, and then maybe put a cute welcome note on it... and then I thought it would be a good way to keep up with doctor appointments and other upcoming events. It will get lots of use, I'm sure!
Project #3: Scrapbook Picture Frame
note: this one was all my idea, but feel free to take!
Tools: dollar store frame, hobby lobby scrapbook paper, maternity photo :)
This was more just playing with the paper and being creative with my cutting/arranging. I LOVE that picture from our maternity photo shoot and thought it would be a nice accent to his room. I like how it is like a scrapbook page, but in a frame!
Here's a view of that side of the nursery. The walls still feel a litle empty to me, I have a feeling I will be doing some more crafts to help fill them as time goes on:
Other than these arts and crafts, I have been keeping busy working a little in my classroom each day. I think it's mostly done now, except for placing my centers where I would like them to be. My printer at school isn't working, and I put in to have it fixed, they said they fixed it, and it STILL isn't working! So once I get that situation fixed, then I will work some more on printing labels and cuter center signs.
It's crazy to think I will only be teaching 2 and 1/2 weeks, and then be out for another 8 weeks. I think those 8 weeks will cetainly be much busier than this summer has been, though! ;)
