5 Favorite Songs
Oh man, this is tough. Those of you who know me know I love music like crazy. I have a song that reminds me of everything in my life. To just pick five is really, really hard, but I will try.... :)
1) "Wonderwall" by Oasis
This one definitely tops the list. I fell in love with it around freshman year of high school, I believe, and there are just so many great lines in there that an awkward teenager can relate too - but then, even listening to it later in life, you still can relate it. Pretty awesome.
2) "Round Here (Acoustic Version)" by Counting Crows
Counting Crows is my favorite band ever. It's so hard to pick just one of their songs, but this one is almost magical. It's the one that made me love this band. Adam Duritz (their lead singer) is just such a great storyteller with his music and shows so much emotion. And it's just a good song that I think everyone loves. Here's the acoustic version.
3) "Free Man" by Angie Aparo
It's hard to pick just ONE song by this guy, as he's an amazing artist who doesn't get the credit he deserves in the music world. This is just one song by him that I could listen to over and over and over, I think a lot of people can relate to it. Oh, and this guy could be better known as the guy who wrote "Cry" that Faith Hill did. [That song is actually about his divorce from his wife!] :) Just great music. He's also great live - Chad and I saw him when we were dating. Other songs of his that could make this list: Seed, the American, and Memphis City Rain.
Here's a picture of me WITH Angie Aparo. Yes, I look about 5 giddy with excitement. :)
4) "Lost" by Coldplay
This is just a GOOD song that you can't help but like. They have a lot of good songs, but this one always makes me smile and sing along. Even the other versions, acoustic, the one with Jay-Z, etc, are good.
5) "Beyond Measure" by Jeremy Camp
This is the one on my list I am the most emotionally connected to. This song has got me through some good and some bad times. Going through a back surgery plus a year and a half of complications wasn't easy on me, but I still knew (and know!) God has and would continue to not only take care of me, but give me more than I could measure. I remembered to count all of the amazing blessings in my life and that got me through. I listen to this song whenever I need a reminder that God is in control and will continue to take care of me as He has. :)
And because picking five songs was so incredibly tough, here are some honorable mentions that could've made this list for me...
"I Need You to Love Me" by BarlowGirl
"Hello World" by Lady Antebellum
"The Night Before (Life Goes On)" by Carrie Underwood
"Heart of Life" by John Mayer
"Vienna" by the Fray
